How is Psychosocial Nursing Assessed?

As stated on the last posting, psychosocial nursing is part of the routine health assessment in a holistic nursing approach. There are theorists who have given guidelines as to what stages with corresponding characteristics, that individuals should follow given their age group. One of the most famous psychosocial theorists, Erik Erikson, wrote the stages of psychosocial development that nurses follow to assess their patients. Utilizing these stages, nurses are able to assess psychosocial development. You can view Erik Erikson's stages of psychosocial development in a word document via the URL below through Scribd. Think about how you might apply this to your own nursing assessment in a 2 year old. What about an adolescent?
